This beautiful theatre is one of the oldest in the city, and has been home to some of the most famous Broadway shows in history. Designed by architects Currere and Hastings, it was built by producer Charles Dillingham and opened as the Globe Theatre on the 10th of January with the musical "The Old Town"featuring Dave Montgomery and Fred Stone. The theatre was renamed the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in honor of Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in 1958.

The theatre seats 1,505 people and is known for its elegant interior, featuring marble staircases and balconies.
