The Walter Kerr Theatre is a Broadway theatre located at 219 West 48th Street in midtown Theater District of Manhattan. Designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp for the Shubert family. It opened in 1921, with the play The Young Mrs. Winthrop. The theatre was named for Walter Kerr, who was the drama critic, who was associated with the theatre for more than forty years. Now the theatre is owned by Jujamcyn Theatres, which bought it in 1980.

The 975-seat, including orchestra and mezzanine levels, theatre was Krapp's second Broadway theatre. And was the first in the United States to be specifically designed for television broadcasting. Also it was one of the first air-conditioned theatre in the city. The building was declared a New York City landmark.

The theatre was home to the original Broadway productions of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company, as well as the Tony Award-winning musicals Angels in America, Proof, Clybourne Park, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and more. The theatre was the home of the original production of "The Boys in the Band". It also housed the long-running musicals Cats. Some of the most popular Broadway shows that have played at the Walter Kerr Theatre include Hamilton, The Book of Mormon, and The Phantom, and has been the home of many famous American plays and musicals, including The King and I, Man of La Mancha.
